Methodology

How TickerVault works.

This page explains source coverage, ranking logic, and how AI-assisted summaries fit into the product.

Source coverage

TickerVault aggregates from sources such as Hacker News, Reddit, ArXiv, GitHub, Product Hunt, Techmeme, Hugging Face, and publisher RSS feeds. Source labels show where an item was discovered; article pages also surface the publisher domain when it differs from the discovery source.

Story ranking

Homepage and topic hubs prefer fresher items, higher-signal sources, stronger publishers, and stories with clear summaries. Community chatter is still included, but it should not dominate the main editorial surfaces unless it earns that placement.

AI summaries

Summaries are used to help readers scan faster. They are not a replacement for the original reporting, paper, repository, or source thread. Every summary should be treated as a starting point and paired with the outbound source link.

Editorial intent

TickerVault is optimized for people-first discovery. Topic hubs, digest pages, and article context pages are meant to add organization and context rather than simply rewrite the original source.
